Washing: Since there is hemp in these diapers/inserts, wash them separately several times prior to the first use with your baby. This will "prime" the hemp to make it more absorbent and eliminate naturally occuring oils in the hemp fabric. Then wash them right along with the rest of your diapers and inserts using 1/4 to 1/2 the recommended amount of detergent. No bleach, whitening agents, or fabric softener. Should staining occur, it usually comes out after several washes. Alternatively, inserts can be placed in the sun for a couple of hours and they will bleach naturally...no kidding! And, since they unfold for washing and drying, Hemp Babies Little Weeds dry quickly in the dryer or on the line!
